The problem, when it comes to people who "don't want cats" is that… they are not the ones who choose. Cats choose their humans, that is a fact. And if a cat chooses a human who doesn't actually want to have a cat, quite frankly, that's the human's problem. Because cats don't choose just anyone. Cats choose good people - the kind of people who cats feel, on a gut level, will be happy to take care of them until the end of their days. And good people… cannot resist cats. Good people, even ones who have no particular love for cats, will not let cats starve out there if they ask for help. 

That is what happened here. A mom who didn't want a cat got chosen by one. Now, she can pretend as much as she wants to that she doesn't want him still or doesn't love him more than anything in the world, but the amount of toys, cat food, and especially the cat sling carrier… those things say otherwise.

    He was a friendly stray she saw on the front porch one day. She didn't want him, but she left out food. Then she bought him toys, then she got him fixed. Then she brought him in when he got hurt, then she bought a pouch to put the needy 18lb cat in. She still doesn't want him, but hes also her baby who can do nothing wrong.

    Flat-Limit5595 OP ⚫ 4h ago He was an absolute monster before he got snipped. All cats and dogs feared him. The local dogs still avoid our house despite the fact hes been inside for 3 years. Hes just an angel to humans, after he got snipped he became very friendly to cats as well. But dogs are still open season to him.

  • And no matter what the mother might say about wanting him in her home, clearly, this little dude considers this his forever home. And really, as long as she doesn't get in the way of that, then things are going to be just fine around the house.
